Mauritius offers great kitesurfing. The recommended hotel for kitesurfing is the Indian Resort Le Morne Peninsula. The hotel is the Island’s largest hotel and has an Indian theme. If you want upmarket luxury with 5 star service, then this hotel is not for you. It is, however, perfect for families who windsurf and kitesurf. If you want to lie on the beach, choose another hotel because this is a windy spot. There are 3 pools, kids and teenagers clubs and a fitness centre and spa. I have been told my kitesurfing friends that this is the spot for kitesurfing! They have stayed at various hotels in Mauritius and rate this one as the best for kitesurfing. They have small children too.
Kitesurfing is not for the fainthearted. It is recommended that novices take lessons before venturing out into the waters! La Prairie (in the Southwest )is a recommended place for learning kitesurfing. Le Morne (in the Southwest) is very popular for those who do not need lessons.
In the East , Belle Mare and Pointe d’Esny. In the North, Cap Maleureux and Grand Gaube.
If you require a kitesurfing school, Kuxville at Cap Malheureux, Le Shandrani Hotel in Blue Bay and Indian Resort at Le Morne Peninsula.
