With over half a kilometre of sandy beaches, the resort covers more than 12 hectares featuring beautiful landscaped tropical gardens with contemporary plantation-style architecture. The heart of the resort holds a substantial classically styled sugar mansion, fronted by formal gardens and a croquet lawn.
The vast wings of the Sugar Beach Resort hosts 83 rooms, many of them interconnected and ideal for families. Smaller villa-style buildings designed to look like an old plantation villages, are scattered around the ample grounds.
Guests of the Sugar Beach Resort also have all the facilities of the neighboring and sister resort, La Pirogue Hotel (host of the Marlin World Cup sport-fishing event) at their disposal.
Sugar Beach offers 258 guest rooms and suites. All rooms have their own private patio or balcony complete with easy chair, Ottoman and day bed. They are provided with fully stocked mini-bars, luggage racks, tea and coffee making facilities and LCD flat-screen TVs. Satellite television provides international news, sports and entertainment, as well as kids’ channels in English, French, German and Italian.
Rooms also have international direct-dial telephones, Wi-Fi internet access (charged extra) electronic room safes, hairdryers, individually controlled air-conditioning, electrical shaver points (110/220 volts) and desks with a full range of international electrical plug sockets. Irons and ironing boards are available on request
Standard rooms have bath-with-shower and toilet. 29 of them have two queen-sized beds that can accommodate two adults and two children under 12 sharing with parents, or two adults and a third person above 12 years old. There is also 1 Standard room specially equipped for handicapped guests. (40m2).
Superior rooms have separate bath, stand-up rain shower cubicle, separate toilet and a larger vanity. 47 of them are furnished with two queen-sized beds. Cots are also available. (40 m2).
Aura Spa has a range of treatments lasting between 60 minutes to 4 hours. You are sure to have a relaxing and rejuvenating time, whether you go alone or with someone in one of the couples suites. The spa also has a hair and beauty salon for hair, nails and facials.
The Aura fitness centre has a variety of activities for those who want to keep fit: Stretching, aerobics, Tae Bo, yoga indoor cycling, aqua gym, cardio training, strength training, pilates and vibro gym.
Restaurants and Bars:
Mediterranean meets Mauritius at the Citronella’s Café restaurant. Executive chef Mauree combines flavours from North Africa and Southern Europe with a modern twist. Choose a delicious mezzeh platter (featuring Greek hummus and Tunisian tabouleh) or a refreshing goat’s cheese salad dressed in fragrant virgin olive oil and balsamic vinegar to start your meal. Fresh herbs such as thyme and rosemary are used to flavour the meats and an exceptional seafood option is also available.
The beach front Tides Restaurant offers a world seafood cuisine for lunch and dinner. Guests can compose their own platter from the centerpiece counter. At lunch, Tides also prepares light poolside meals that can be ordered with refreshments from its bar.
Mon Plaisir Restaurant, the main restaurant, proposes full English and continental breakfast buffet available from 7.30 a.m until 10.30a.m, while evenings feature themed live cooking and cosmopolitan buffet dinners.
Kids and Teens:
Sun Kids Club is free for all children from 2-11 years and provides world-class attractions including exciting daily fun programmes, age-appropriate activities, facilities and amenities, twelve hours a day. Members can enjoy golf, tennis, windsurfing and swimming clinics as well as environmental excursions with a focus on educational enrichment throughout their stay. Babysitters are available at an extra charge and required for children aged 2 and 3 years.
For teens between 12-17 year olds there is a special programme of sports and recreation as well as adventure outings and excursions. Regular evening get-togethers are organised including beach BBQs around a campfire or a Pizza night at Citronella’s Café, our Italian restaurant. Our Sports Bar, which includes video games, music TV, pool and its own DJ, converts to one of the coolest night time venues on the island.
You can go play golf at the neighboring Le Touessrok Resort’s great Golf Course. The 18 hole course covers 38 hectares and is the longest in Mauritius, with the holes snaking up and down the length of the island.
Expansive white sand bunkers and water set off the natural backdrop of trees and vegetation perfectly. Water is an essential feature of the course. There are nine lakes in all, and three of the holes require tee shots across sea inlets to the fairways.

The Sugar Beach Resort offers an excellent range of activities. The Sugar Club sports complex is particularly strong on tennis, but includes a good gym and full programme of activities ranging from yoga to mountain biking tours.
